Ok, I'll admit it, I was kinda doubting myself about the Half. Not a good thing. This morning I got up, took the dog for a walk, took some advil, ate a protein bar and headed to the treadmill. Dreading it...
I put 55 minutes on the timer and off I went. I completed 5.25 miles in just under 54 minutes. Max heart rate = 179 Average was 158. 557 calories burned.
Let me tell you ... every minute sucked ! My legs felt heavy, my right lower back was not pleased, my priformis went on strike at the half mile mark and apparently a 180 calorie protein bar is not enough fuel. Got it..
HOWEVER... i did it. And when I was done, I thought to myself, if I had to, I could do this for another 90 minutes, and that, my friends would be a half marathon.
Doubt = gone Discomfort = here Satisfaction = here I'm good :)
