what ?? what ?? Snow in Belltown ??
Jingle Bell Runs BACK TO BACK BABY !!!
First - Bellingham - 4 mile run
SOOOO fun - great run ! Seriously ! 4 miles = 43 minutes for Jodie... WHAT ??? that's crazy fast for me ! hehehehehe.
It was insanely windy, and when we picked up CC at the park and ride in Lynnwood at 7:00am is was dark, raining and windy. Stanwood had snow and I'm thinkin' no way Jose am i running in this. Have some sympathy people... I just did a sucky half marathon 6 days ago !
God Bless Rob for driving us... what a guy... he's been up early every single weekend day for 2 weeks to deal with my silly running ....
We got to B'town, found a portapotty (yes... I was that desperate) then BOOM saw RC... yeah ! And next thing you know... we're off, jingling with the bracelets CC made ! What an amazing course. Thru a residential neighborhood where people had christmas music playing out their windows for us, good people to run with ... and suddenly.. I'm at mile 3 ! WHAT ???? crazy... so a cruised to the end and there was RC and CC waiting ! YEA !!!! no rain, way windy, but a beautiful skyline, fun fun course, and the very best company at the end. Thank you guys !
Next - Seattle Jingle Bell 5K 3.1 mile
OH MY GOSH... some serious crowds here. no...really..
Lots of jingle bells, we ALL sang the Jingle Bell song while running thru the tunnel, good, wait... no... GREAT people to run with and soooo fun. The Thompson family made the trek from M'ville, Lundquists were hanging downtown already... so we met up, walked to the start, handed off the Thompson boys to Rob (who went to Top Pot by the way... I'm kinda jealous) and off we went in the Dasher's wave of green bibs. There was an insane amount of people and while I don't think strollers belong in the MIDDLE of the road during a run, everything else was stellar. Ladies and gents... this, the 2008 Seattle Jingle Bell Run, was the FIRST ever 5k in which I didn't have to pull over to the side and walk for a bit. SERIOUSLY !! I'm so happy with that... granted... with the crowds, I wasn't exactly going for speed in general... but still... I DIDN'T WALK !!! woot woot ! 3.1 miles = 33 minutes per my watch.
And for the people that braved the ice... the snow...and the freezing cold, I am so thankful for you ... it was a great run, with great people and I couldn't ask for anything more ! YOU GUYS ROCK IT BABY !
We walked back to the condo where Rob and Dave had drinks and snacks waiting and had a fantastic time chatting and getting warm.
Overall, an amazing fun fun fun weekend.
I'm gonna head to the bath... then start some laundry, do some serious a** kissing to Rob for putting up with this for 4 weekend days when he should be sleeping in , and think about what I can plan next to get everyone moving together.
Thank you again to the gang from M'ville and Lake Stevens... see... the drive wasn't that bad ! NICE WORK !
xoxoxoxo

Bellingham was RAD. I wish I had bigger balls to make the trek to Seattle on Sunday... I was sad heading home with my bag of 15 jingle bell bracelets that weren't even worn...
BUT I WILL KEEP THEM UNTIL NEXT YEAR!!!
In hindsight - I should've hopped on a bus!! Why do I think of these brilliant ideas after the fact?
Thanks for organizing Jodie!! It was a great time.
xxoo,
