focusing on the WRONG thing...

"Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do." -John Wooden

Thanks Coach ! I needed that. I've been spending W A Y too much time and energy focusing on the wrong thing. I've been grumbling and whining and being frustrated with what I CAN'T do. And that's not a good thing.

I'm fairly sure that this not an uncommon practice for lots of people. You focus on the things you think you can't do.
"I don't have TIME to get to the gym"
"It's hard to eat right when I'm so busy"
"I work alot of hours and I can't get a decent meal in"
Blah blah blah...

Is our time limited ?? you bet ! I don't have a kid at home and I still need more hours in a day. I work weird hours now, go to work in the dark, leave work in the dark.

Is it easier to grab a burger than to make a salad at home ? Yes.

Yep, my leg hurts. But I can still do S O M E T H I N G !!

But no time left for this whining. I need to pay attention to what IS possible instead of what I can't do.

Today, I'm gonna set up the wind trainer and ride that snazzy Kona bike for 45 minutes.
Tomorrow, I will test out the rowing machine in our gym downstairs.
No more Dick's cheeseburgers for awhile. No more Dick's hot fudge sundaes.
I will use those yummy treats as rewards when I sweat for 45 minutes.
I can still do things.
I can still go on walks. I can ride the wind trainer. I can work the rowing machine.
I CAN :)
(and lord knows... if I CAN... you can too !)

So.... what are you gonna do ?
